Gran Gelato Italiano – A family business that brings to Bucharest the recipes of the Italian grandmother. Located on Radu Voda Street, this gelaterie is considered by many as “the best gelato in Bucharest,” especially due to pistachio ice cream. “Probably the best gelato in Bucharest… I think it’s the best pistachio ice cream ever eaten by me” confesses the author of a review. They have dozens of different daily choices, including sugar-free options. One cup ~ 10 lei. Gran Gelato boasts ingredients from Italy and fresh local milk. Velvet texture and flavors such as gianduja (chocolate-nuts) or mango sorbet make the delight of any true ice cream lover.
Gelato delicii – Two-point artisanal gelaterie (Floreasca and Berthelot area), known not only for ice cream but also for the cool atmosphere of the neighborhood hub. They have classic and innovative sorts, and the price per cup is ~ 8 lei. It is distinguished by clean ingredients and intense flavors – for example, black chocolate or passion fruit gelatos receive praise. “For a few years, since I’m no longer a corporate, Floreasca has become the hip pole of delicacies… and yes, whenever I have work to do in the area, I stop at the Gelato Dishes” says a review, suggesting that the place has become a mandatory stop. The staff is young and friendly, and in the summer you often find customers enjoying corneas in front of the little ice cream shop, in the shade.
Creamier – A gelatee-boutique hidden on an alley (B. Franklin no. 5, near Calea Victoriei), with an intimate terrace. Creamier offers creamy Italian-style ice cream, plus cakes and coffee. Price ~ 9 lei cup. They have flavors like lavender, fig ricotta, Belgian cocoa, etc. A faithful visitor tells: “With the Creamier I have a kind of ritual – it is my reward after a walk on the road, on the Way of Victory. I love the privacy of the terrace, hidden from the rest of the city… and I love that every time the staff is incredibly careful.” In addition, Creamier is praised for the fruity sorbet (e.g. raspberry) extremely intense and for changing the flavor menu depending on the season, keeping the curious customers always trying something new.
Moritz Eis – Artisanal gelaterie brand from Serbia, also present in Bucharest (Dorobenti). It brings gourmet flavors and surprising combinations, such as basil sorbet with lemon or lavender ice cream. A cup ~ 10 lei. “I admit that Moritz Eis is my guilty pleasure from Cluj… the fascinating entrepreneurial story of Mr. Moritz of Serbia… has managed to gain ground everywhere” – a sign of regional success. The physics of Moritz is also highly appreciated. The store’s ambience is minimal, focused on the stained window. For curious, they also have vegan assortment based on rice or coconut milk, without compromise to taste.
Sweetology – Modern Gelaterie and Confectionery on the Victory Way, which combines the art of deserts with vegan-friendly options. Sweetology boasts that it also has vegan cornets and vegan gelato (without lactose), so that “absolutely everyone will step on their threshold. Delicious.” A cup ~ 10 lei. Here you find classic flavors, but also specialties such as avocado gelato with lemon or Belgian vegan chocolate. The decor is elegant-modern, inspired by a candy lab. “At Sweetology, the passion for sweetness has gained other values: founders have also brought assortment to the most demanding among us (gelato vegan, vegan cones…) – so that everyone can enjoy it.” A place loved especially by the young generation, Sweetology also offers ice cream workshops for children, increasing the charm of experience.
